As the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games Official Nature and Carbon Neutral Supporter, Severn Trent is creating 72 Tiny Forests in urban areas across the West Midlands. Each Tiny Forest will link to one of the nations and territories competing at the Games. A Tiny Forest is a dense and fast-growing native woodland, typically the size of a tennis court. They are ideal for urban spaces, creating an oasis for plants, insects, birds and small mammals, and supporting the well-being of people too. Each forest needs to be retained for 35 years and be easily accessible to residents or school children. You can read all about the scheme on this leaflet.
