17 Jul 2026 Warwickshire to split in to two unitary councils

A joint announcement has been issued by all six Warwickshire councils following the Government’s decision to create two new unitary councils for the county.

One council will cover the north (North Warwickshire, Nuneaton and Bedworth, and Rugby) and one will cover the south (Stratford-on-Avon and Warwick).

Our shared priority now is to make sure residents, businesses and communities continue to receive the services they rely on, and that the move to the new councils is managed carefully and in the best interests of Warwickshire. Read more on this link.
