Cattle wanted for grazing SSSI in Berkswell

I represent Cemex UK and we have a 5Ha area of SSSI on the southern perimeter of our sand and gravel quarry at Cornets Lane, Berkswell.  This Berkswell Marsh SSSI site is the largest known example of fen meadow in the former West Midlands county. The SSSI is made up of an area of fen meadow bisected by a tributary of the River Blythe.  The site has been affected by HS2, which has closed the point of access the site once had from a local farm.  This has resulted in the site not being grazed over the past few years.

We would like to reinstate grazing on the site and we will soon be making good the fencing and trying to improve access .  Although the majority of the area is marsh there are areas of neutral grassland within, and a natural clean watercourse running through the site. We are asking if anyone local to the Berkswell area would consider helping with the supply of a small number of cattle on the site.  Grazing would most likely be seasonal between late spring and autumn to suit the conditions in the marsh. Any stock should ideally be light traditional breeds.

Please contact me if you would like further information, or want to have a look at the site with the intent of supplying stock.

Pest control services available – field or farm

Looking for shooting opportunities for pest control. UK Military Veteran, with licence and a passion for pest control and pigeon shooting, is looking to find local farms (I live in Coventry) that may need assistance in controlling pests such as pigeons/corvids. Happy to come and have a chat prior to permission being given and happy to tell you more about myself and provide copies of licence and insurance. This is a free service and I’m not asking for anything, except permission to shoot on owner’s property. Everything taken away and nothing left behind.  Thank you.

Workshop rental available near Stratford on Avon

Shared rental of a brand new light industrial workshop on the outskirts of Stratford upon Avon, available from July.   The unit is just over 2200 sq ft and benefits from roller shutter door and pedestrian access, 6m high eaves, kitchen, toilet, and a floated concrete floor. Well insulated and high spec.

Outside there is parking and adequate space for lorries turning. The site is a secure gated development.

I’m looking to sublet 25-50% of the space as a workshop or storage space for a proportional share of the cost per month.

My prop making and sculpture business will occupy the remaining space.
