Shepherd hut company is looking for business partnership

Edgehill Shepherd Huts, based in Radway in south Warwickshire, is looking for a business partner who is interested in diversifying into the glamping sector.   The business partner would purchase the shepherd hut for two thirds of the full price and complete payment of the remaining one third over an agreed period of time once bookings are being received.  The payment would be a percentage of the booking fee so that both parties can benefit from an income.  Once the total value of the shepherd hut has been paid to Edgehill the business partner would own the hut outright and keep all future income.

For a fully fitted Edgehill shepherd hut with a bedroom, kitchen, lounge and bedroom the cost is approximately £35,000 depending on the current price of materials.  Although the huts have a traditional look on the exterior they subtlety incorporate modern technology to provide the customer with all the latest comforts, from instant hot water taps, power showers, underfloor heating, easy to use wood burners to fully fitted kitchens. For reference the nearest competitor is charging £53k plus vat.

An independent survey on the UK glamping industry documented an annual return per shepherd hut, if marketed correctly, of approximately £25k.

Take a look at the Edgehill Shepherd Huts on their website and contact Director Lee Elliott for further information.

Could you volunteer for a charitable farm near Kenilworth?

The Langdale Trust is a registered charity based in Kenilworth. We have a small 6 acre farm in Berkswell near Kenilworth. The farm is for children, adults and their families with special needs, disabilities, long or short term or terminal illness. We have managed to keep things running in no income through the pandemic and also manage to keep support the children, adults and families that needed to have access to the great Warwickshire outdoors. But it’s been a struggle. I wanted to find out if any farmers in the area would be willing to help us in any way. We need to add around 250 meters of fencing to build animal enclosures and split some of our large enclosures. Having the access to 6 acres of beautiful land and pigs, goats, sheep, alpacas and horses gives our visitors a real boost. But we need to get the rest of the work completed. Splitting the fields will enable to us to rotate the animals and keep costs down.

If you can spare time, a few metres of stock fencing or few rounded fence posts and ideally equipment to bang them in, this would be very much appreciated.   Plus continued help in the future with projects would be fantastic.   If you can help in any way please let me know. We don’t have any employees and everyone who helps at the charity are 100% volunteers which means that all funds donated go to making our charity even better for the children, adults and families.

Look at the links to our Facebook page and video links you will see the great work we have done.

Thank you
Simon Morris
Chairman of The Langdale Trust

Permission Sought to Metal Detect on Farmland Please

Hi, My name is Sarah and I am a novice metal detectorist. I would love a landowner to give me permission to detect with my brother on their farmland. I am a member of the NCMD which provides public liability cover. I would draft an agreement which includes splitting finds of significant value over a certain cost. I am happy to meet with the landowner prior to detecting to introduce myself and provide references if required. Please see the following link to advice for landowners considering allowing a detectorist on their land Many thanks for your interest.
