18 Aug 2026 AHDB organise Bluetongue update meetings

Cases of Bluetongue virus (BTV) are rising quickly in both sheep and cattle and it’s having a major impact in some parts of the country. It’s a rapidly evolving situation, so Agricultural and Horticulture Development Board has organised a series of update meetings for farmers.

Join a meeting to hear from local vets and advisers, APHA/Defra representatives and industry specialists for the latest updates on the BTV situation.

Key topics to be covered:

  • Practical information on how BTV is spread
  • Vaccination
  • Clinical signs in livestock
  • How to treat affected livestock

Booking is essential as the number of people who can attend the meetings is limited.

Visit the Rural Hub events page to view the details of our nearest meetings in Shrewsbury (26 August, 6.30pm) and Melton Mowbray (3 September, 6.30pm).
