With our busy lives we can all be guilty of neglecting our own health and welfare. But to be able to deal with life’s challenges we need to be fit and healthy. So, we are bringing the health professionals to you.
Working from the Rugby Livestock Mart café in the Jersey Pavilion at Stoneleigh Park will be inviting you to enjoy a free stress-busting head and shoulder massage and have an informal chat about your health with two registered nurses from Parish Nursing, to include a blood pressure test or BMI reading. Confidential consultations in a private room can easily be arranged. Staff and volunteers from Farming Community Network will also be on hand to talk about their welfare services and we will be handing out free copies of their booklets “Fit for Farming”. Leaflets on a variety of health issues such as prostate cancer, skin cancer, arthritis and lung conditions will be available for you to take away.
And it’s not just about physical health conditions – farming is a stressful profession and talking to someone who understands the issues involved can make a huge difference. Information on how to contact a professional counsellor within 24 hours without a clinical referral via the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution mental health support service will be on offer.
These events are kindly funded by The Janet and Bryan Moore Charitable Trust.
We look forward to joining you over a cup of tea for a catch up.
